DUTCH Hormone Test
This comprehensive hormone test can look into your reproductive hormones, stress hormones, detoxification, + more!
Comprehensive Hormone Testing
DUTCH hormone testing is a great way to get a comprehensive look at your reproductive hormones and stress hormones. If you're struggling with the following, a DUTCH hormone test is most likely in your future:
- Painful/irregular periods
- Weight gain
- Infertility
- Chronic fatigue
- Low libido
- Hair loss
DUTCH testing isn't always something we recommend as an initial test.
Reproductive hormones are so responsive based on how other areas of the body are feeling. Example: When ladies are really stressed out, we miss our periods. Therefore in order to have better reproductive hormones, we want to focus on the root cause. Not obsess over your low progesterone or try supplements to increase progesterone (before looking at the root cause). We want to understand WHY these hormones are responding the way they are.
Reproductive hormones are typically followers, not leaders.
DUTCH testing is usually recommended as a 2nd or 3rd test versus a 1st. Conditions that do benefit from a DUTCH test after doing some root cause work are:
- Endometriosis
- PCOS
- Infertility
- "Adrenal fatigue"
- Perimenopause
- Insomnia
Once we get DUTCH results, we'll be able to do this for you....
- Understand what supplements may help your adrenals or reproductive hormones (AFTER root cause work because sometimes just root cause work can work out hormonal imbalances by itself).
- Foods to focus on and food habits
- Understand some lifestyle adjustments that may need to happen to benefit your hormones
- Understand a bit more into mitochondria health (because the mitochondria is the factory that makes hormones - sorry, throwing you back into high school bio).
- Know if we need to add additional detoxification support
DUTCH hormone tests for markers not found in normal blood hormone tests.
In addition to the three estrogens, progesterone, androgens, it can test for estrogen metabolism and detoxification only found via urine. It tests for cortisol patterns throughout the 24 hours versus the one sample of cortisol in your blood. This is important because your cortisol goes up and down throughout the day, so understanding the pattern is necessary. It also tests for misc. markers, such as vitamin B12, glutathione, B6, melatonin, and more!
